Sharing Our Stories

Here are some of the things our residents are saying about life at Schowalter Villa.

“Each person finds their fit, what lights their fire.”

Bill and Ruth Mason

“Life here is the best of both worlds for us, offering peaceful privacy and a surprising number of activities and opportunities for interaction. Each person finds their fit, what lights their fire. The choices I want are mine and are much broader than this campus.

When we began considering our living alternatives in retirement, quality and affordability were equally important to me. I am constantly reminded of the quality construction of our Belmont home at Schowalter Villa, and utility costs are so minimal.”

“Ask us why we moved to Hesston.”

Del and Gerry Reimer

“Now that we’ve moved to Schowalter Villa, the whole atmosphere just fits with our values and lifestyle choices. Our neighbors are friendly but not nosy – the perfect blend of friendship and privacy! We were pleasantly surprised to discover that some of our new neighbors at the Villa were folks Gerry knew during her career in special education.”

“…there is no place we'd rather call home."

Kerm and Clydene Gingerich

"Travel and continued learning are benefits of overseas assignments. We've visited 39 countries and hope to see more. Travel plans next spring include Mexico, then a visit to our son and family who live and teach in Shanghai, China. The airport in Wichita is only a half hour away, so we can easily come and go.

Through the years, we visited numerous retirement centers to find appropriate places for parents. We discovered none that seemed as appropriate as Schowalter Villa. There is much interaction among the general public and college students as they make use of the Wellness Center and Water's Edge restaurant on the Villa campus. What a great place to retire! We have no regrets, and there is no place we'd rather call home."
